this bird

after much googling—okay like one whole minute of googling—i found the bird that has been waking me up at 4 am for the past two days, flying straight into my windows and hopping or whatever it is birds do all over the roof.

it's a Western Kingbird. the name is derived from their "take-charge" behavior and they aggressively defend their territory. which explains why they keep squawking all day every day! i don't like birds…

intyways *madea voice*, enjoy your weekend.

of pinterest

all images courtesy of pinterest and k leandra

spring is my favorite season. i love the bright and pastel colors and the shift from cool to hot to cool again throughout the day. i'm so glad to be out of jeggings and boots and freely bare my legs and toes (they were gettin' pasty!)

my fashion goal for the season is to work my skirts and dresses. i didn't realize how many i actually own, but don't wear outside of religious or business obligations. i'm going to work harder to incorporate them in my casual looks as well.

and if you haven't joined pinterest, you should! it's an excellent way to keep track of all the images you love.

sunday chill

kelato and i decided to have brunch this morning since our plans kind of fell through. we stopped at Starbucks for coffee and i snagged the last sweet mallorca bread they had.

my sister wanted "real food" so we grabbed a table outside Panera. which was, for a Sunday morning, almost completely empty. they had a ton of pastries out, but really she and i only eyed
the quiches.

luv quiche.

normally, i protest outdoor seating. it's too humid down here and an umbrella does nothing. but i didn't want to bring a Starbucks drink inside. i've done that before but there's a sudden strange feeling of guilt because Paneras has their coffee already out for you to
serve yourself.

hope you all had a very relaxing weekend!

Things Are Gonna Change... I Can Feel It!

Edited by Jessie Thorpe of Denimology
On Monday morning, my life will change. I am having my muffin top and all of my shiny silver stretch marks removed from my fleshy, live-giving form. I'm having plastic surgery, a tummy tuck to be exact, and yes I'm talking right out loud about it. This decision has had my head in a tizzy fashion wise, sending me searching for some fashion guidance to compliment my new figure. I've really been inspired by nostalgic what-comes-around-goes-around fashion trends, feel good fashion and a variety of "Top (insert number here)" lists. 90's trends seem to be popular in the fashion blogosphere; you kids are talking about sheer clothes, color blocking and threads ripped to shreds. I'm really appreciating the inspirational instruction given by all you clever e-journalists. We've been instructed on how and what to wear for the season, how to pamper little ol' you and feel good about it too!
